How construction cost is worked out
In Lahore, builders price construction per square foot of covered area: the built floor area of every storey, plus any basement. Your total is that covered area multiplied by the rate for your scope.

Covered area is not plot area. A double-storey house on a 5 marla plot can have well over 1,125 sq ft of covered area, because each floor counts.

Most 5 marla houses are built double-storey, so with typical ground coverage the covered area lands somewhere around 1,500 to 1,700 sq ft before a stair tower or basement. 10 marla house construction cost in Lahore
A 10 marla plot is 2,250 sq ft. Built double-storey, the covered area is usually around 3,000 sq ft or more depending on coverage rules. A basement, where allowed, adds close to another full floor of covered area, plus excavation and waterproofing.
1 kanal house construction cost in Lahore
